Overview:
Our organization is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Special Education Administrator to oversee and manage our special education programs. The Special Education Administrator will be responsible for ensuring the provision of appropriate educational services to students with special needs in compliance with federal and state regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of special education policies, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement effective strategies, policies, and procedures for the delivery of special education services.
2. Collaborate with district administrators, principals, and teachers to ensure compliance with special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
3. Supervise and evaluate special education teachers, support staff, and related service providers.
4. Ensure Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) are developed, reviewed, and implemented for all eligible students, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
5. Monitor the progress and academic achievements of students with special needs, providing guidance and support to teachers and staff as needed.
6. Coordinate and facilitate the identification, evaluation, and placement of students into appropriate special education programs.
7. Collaborate with general education administrators and staff to promote inclusion and facilitate the successful integration of students with special needs into mainstream classrooms.
8. Ensure that special education staff receive appropriate and ongoing professional development to enhance their knowledge and skills.
9. Serve as a liaison between parents, teachers, and other stakeholders to address concerns, resolve conflicts, and foster positive communication.
10. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and reports related to special education programs, student progress, and compliance with legal requirements.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
2. Valid state teaching certification in Special Education.
3. Minimum of [X] years of experience working in special education, preferably in a leadership or administrative role.
4. In-depth knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations governing special education programs.
